You can use any weight of yarn, just keep in mind, the thicker the yarn, the bigger your pumpkin will be!

For example, worsted weight (#4) yarn makes a 4" diameter by 2" tall pumpkin (excluding stem) and Super Bulky (#6) yarn makes an 8" diameter by 4" high pumpkin. (The pumpkin in photos was made with worsted weight yarn, for reference)

1 skein will be plenty, no matter what yarn weight you choose!
